This was a good scenario as I like to fully explore the map and see what I am facing rather than sitting and waiting for a battle or quick attack.

Knowing I could have faced unworkable victory conditions if I had not checked cause no hesitation but in future designer should work these issues out.

I knew what I was to do right off as the scenario instructions were clear.Īlthough you are supposed to be China when it opens up you are Japan. It told you what you needed to know but offered no meat. More time needed to freshen up on the designing stage for next time. I honestly don’t know what to say, as the map was clean but bland. The different terrain was what you would see in any of the game maps. It was made well but offered nothing to look at no eye candy what so ever. I did it both ways and each time was victorious. I would have spent a little more time working out those bugs to ensure they in fact were working. The designer states that at times the victory conditions fail and you can declare your self the victor or go and finish by conquest. You had victory conditions but your opposing forces have none. Everything was fixed positions and you basically had to build up and conquer. I found the creativity to be that of the same design as the actual AOE or ROR game. As for the victory conditions I went into scenario design to ensure everything was working properly. I finished with chariots and bowmen as I squandered my resources. Good coverage of resources but you have to act fast to collect or things could go bad for you near the end.

Your ally aids, which is good because as you progress the opposing forces start at each ends. I felt I was facing a challenge when upon starting you are set upon by the computers forces. Good balance as I said you are allied for part of the game then all bets are off. One enemy probes then sits back and waits for you. Some players prove more of a challenge than others. You have and ally you until half way though the game your allegiance with your own country changes and you are faced with defeating them or die. I enjoyed playing this because it was at times challenging. This was a good scenario but in line with the original game itself.Ĭhina and the 3rd to 4th Dynasty could have been Rome or any other country.
